Food and nutrition affects sperm quality in men. Sperm quality governs how well they swim and how readily they are able to fertilize an egg. Folate is required for the synthesis of genetic information or DNA.Fruits and vegetables, particularly green leafy vegetables and cereal products are sources of folate. Antioxidants should be had to protect the sperms that are formed. This should include vitamin C, E and selenium found in fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Combined Zinc and folate supplements can be taken under medical supervision to increase the sperm count in men.
