Fertility and PCOD
PCOD is the most common reason for infertility. But with
proper weight management, quality life and prevention of chronic conditions of
PCOS can solve this problem. Women with PCOD reach risk of chronic conditions
such as cardiovascular disease, type two diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Women
who are obese are most at risk of chronic conditions. Optimal weight management
can increase insulin sensitivity, elevate the symptoms of PCOD, increase
fertility and decrease the risk of chronic conditions later.
By controlling weight management and losing about 5 to 10%
of weight gives improvements in clinical outcomes. Blood glucose control
addresses insulin resistance that is responsible for the symptoms of PCOS. For
this the women should consume small regular meals throughout the day and avoid
skipping meals. Also have low GI carbohydrates which are high in fiber. This
will allow glucose to be released slowly into the bloodstream. High fiber food
leaves women feeling fuller for longer which helps to prevent excess food
consumption. Consumption of refined oil, walnuts, flax seeds, sunflower seeds,
fish oil, Olive oil , avocado is better then having saturated fat such as
butter, cheese, coconut oil, palm oil, ice cream etc.
